Tag: Baby's First YearLori Grice @ 10:28 pm

Front Catch us tomorrow at the Statesboro Mall from 11 to 3.   This annual “baby extravaganza”  is a great way for expecting and new mothers to check out the latest ideas and vendors to make being a new mom a breeze.  We are using this event to showcase our new jewelry line, canvas gallery wraps, portrait pocket books, albums and lots of other great new products.

The first 25 new or expecting mothers to come to our booth and register will receive a complimentary expecting or newborn express session.  Call your friends and tell them about this great event and wonderful gift from us - just for stopping by our booth.

As you know it is our birthday - 20th birthday that is - and we are giving the gifts to you!

The picture attached is a birth announcement sample.  We will have this and many more ideas for you tomorrow!

See you tomorrow at the Statesboro Mall.

Ask the Expert!

Tag: BusinessLori Grice @ 10:28 pm

Lori Window After years and years of being voted ‘best of” in Savannah and Statesboro - I have now moved up in the world.  I have made the transformation from “best of” to “expert”.  So what does all that mean?  Who knows!  I am honored to be included in the Statesboro Herald’s new “Ask the Expert” section of their website.  With over 2 million hits per month - their site is one of the most viewed web sites in the region and possibly the southeast.

They have asked me to serve as the expert in Photography for the region.  Well this is a large task and I promise to do my best!  Everybody now owns a digital camera and I bet you know someone that has recently began a photography business or is planning to start one.  This huge shift in technology has created lots of confusion in the marketplace for the consumers, hobbyist and novice photographers.  Hopefully through this web site, I will be able to help you understand the changes and opportunities in the photography industry for a consumer.  This site is targeting hobbyist - non professional photographers.

There is lots to learn so be sure to check it out.  This is your opportunity to ask me any of the questions you have about your camera, storing images, printing images - when is the best time to use a professional photographer, how to select a photographer that is right for you, etc.

I will link and share some of the questions here on the blog also.

I really do not think I am old enough to be an expert!  But I will try my best to live up to the part!

No excuses promotion…

Tag: Studio EventsLori Grice @ 10:20 am

Wilson Family It is that time again…the time when the calendar rolls over to the last months of the year.  You may have noticed that the stores have the Halloween decorations and costumes out and a few stores have even started selling Holiday decor.  Even though the thermometer is still saying summer, the countdown to the Holidays has officially begun.  There are only a little over 15 weeks left until Christmas.  Which means if you want to have gifts and cards ready for the Holidays you have even less time.

We hear lots of reasons every year why the Holiday cards didn’t happen.  I can’t say that I haven’t had my own excuse or two.  (I sent Valentine’s cards one year instead!)  From time constraints to “I need to lose that last 10 pounds”.  From bad haircuts that need to grow out to I can’t find the perfect outfits.  I could go on and on.  For all of you who have an excuse or two…2007 is your year!  2007 is the NO EXCUSES — let us help you year!  We want to help do what it takes to help make your Holiday cards and the Portrait of your Dreams a reality!

For the dieters…digital art options to make those last ten disappear.  (you may be shocked by what we can do…even remove braces!!!)

For the time and/or budget crunched…EXPRESS sessions.  No consult, no fuss - only one outfit and background!  (& only $180 including 24 cards)

For the shopping challenged…let us be your personal shoppers!  Give us the sizes and styles and we will create the look!

For the bad haircuts…well, I have always heard that the difference between a good haircut and a bad haircut is about a week so time will heal!

We even make House Calls!

We also don’t mind a bit if you have to send your nanny or babysitter with the kids.  We want it to be easy for YOU!!!  Just call us to discuss how we can make your portrait dreams come true!!!

Stop making excuses and book that dream portrait today because we never know what tomorrow holds!

Congratulations Dr. Frost!!

IMG_9028_edit Another client is featured in the news!  Congratulations Dr. Laura Frost for earning a rare university system honor.  She was featured on the front page of Monday’s business section of the Statesboro Herald.   Here is an excerpt from the story: “Laura Frost received the 2007 Award for the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning. She was recognized for being a leader in her department for the incorporation of process-oriented, guided-inquiry learning into introductory chemistry courses. Frost?s scholarship focuses on increasing student interest in chemistry, enhancing student learning, and enhancing students? perception of learning. Only seven faculty members and one academic program in the entire system were selected to receive Teaching Excellence and Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Awards presented by the Board of Regents.” Check out the entire story here.

Laura has been a client for a while.  A few months ago we photographed her beautiful family in Forsyth Park.  We are always thrilled when our clients and friends are recognized for their hard work and good deeds.  Congratulations Laura on this great honor!IMG_9039_edit

Celebrating Life…Madison’s way….

Tag: ChildrenLori Grice @ 9:35 pm

Celebrating Life I had the amazing opportunity to meet and photograph Madison Merrifield a few weeks ago.  Madison and her family moved to Statesboro recently, when her dad Dennis was selected to be our new fire Chief.  Madison is one of the most incredibly inspiring people you will ever meet.  At 13 she is in her third bout with cancer.  She was diagnosed with cancer at 8 the first time, 10 the second time and 11 the third time.  Her story of survivorship will motivate you and compel you to get involved with the fight of cancer.

Today Madison was featured in the Stateboro Herald.  I encourage you to read her story there.  I know many of you will want to learn more about how you can help Madison.  The best way to reach her and learn more about her story is at her web site www.madisonsfund.org

There is so much to do in the fight against cancer.  Madison is definitely a super hero in this fight.  Thank you Madison for touching me in incredible ways.  Thanks to you - I will do more!Madison

The lucky - Lucky Dog Winner is…

Tag: Studio EventsLori Grice @ 10:42 pm

windowslivewriterthereisonlyonethingbetterthanalorigrice-13a67lucky-dog-logo1 Congratulations to the Lucky dog - Lucky Baby contest winner -  Tabitha Swagert of Savannah.

Tabitha won the Grand Prize of a Baby Shower hosted by Supper Studio, Nursery Furniture from Just For Baby, and a photo session and 24 inch Gallery Wrapped Portrait (no need for framing) from Lori Grice Fine Art Photography.  All valued at over $3,000.00 the compliments of Lucky Dog Country 106.

If you enjoy great country music and you listen to Savannah?s Country 106.9?s morning program - then you already know that their co-host Laura Anderson just gave birth to her first child.  To celebrate this exciting time for Laura her station has put together a great promotion where listeners who are expecting are the winners.  They have asked me to be part of this celebration and I am honored.

Surprised that I listen to country music?  I actually love all types of music and draw inspiration from all genres.  If you have heard me speak on my journey of survivorship, overcoming cancer, then you know I close my speech with an emotional slide show set to one of my favorite country music artist, Tim Mcgraw?s ?Live Like You Were Dying.?

Good luck to you!  Stay tuned to their website and our blog for information on the winners.
