Downtown…get down…
Seventeen years ago when I opened my studio on Main street in downtown Statesboro there were more store fronts boarded up than there was actual operating businesses. I dreamed of the day that downtown would once again be a destination. People would come, dine, shop and simply enjoy our beautiful downtown.
Tonight it was certainly a dream come true. Over 1,000 people came to our first Friday downtown event. Tonight Georgia Southern University agreed to host a parents of freshman reception downtown. We had live music and our staff popped and gave away nearly 500 bags of popcorn.
It was so great to see every parking space full and the courthouse square full of people! Hopefully this event will continue to grow. Watch for first Friday specials at our studio in future blogs.

Happy Birthday Blog! When I launched this blog last year I had no idea how popular it would become. Thanks to you in just one short year my blog has become one of the most widely read photography blogs in the world! Is the internet amazing or what? I really appreciate all of your comments and suggestions. Yes I know many of you are addicted and I promise to make next year's entries even more touching and exciting.
