Panel frames, collages, albums and grandmother brag books are just a few of the great ways to show off your Lori Grice portraits. Often, I hear we do not have enough wall space to purchase portraits of all of our favorite images. Panel frames and collage groupings provide an excellent way to display your favorites. Many of our clients have created walls of groupings. You can see examples of some of these on our web site in the as seen in gallery.
The grandmother brag albums are available in 5×5 up to 11×14 sizes. They make great mother’s day gifts and are a beautiful addition to any portrait collection.

Dingus Magees is, in my opinion, Statesboro’s very own “Cheers”. It holds a special place in mine and DeWayne’s heart since it is where we went on our very first date! That was a year or two ago…but that is another story.
One of my favorite days each year is when I go do the new Dingus Magee’s employee group shot. This is the 15th straight year that I have had this honor! Boy time flies! The walls are covered with portraits of the staff’s both current and past. Stephanie and Larry Owens and “Chambers” love to share stories about former Dingus employees that now bring their children to school at GSU and make a stop by Dingus’s to show them their picture on the Dingus wall of fame! Much has changed in Statesboro and Georgia Southern since Dingus opened their doors over 20 years ago. But fortunately, the one thing that has not changed are the great memories created at Dingus for all of us!
I have also included of few behind the scenes pictures from the session.
We wish the best to all the current Dingus gang that are graduating and moving on to the real world!

I have thought often about re-careering but now I am pretty sure that I do not want to become a line person for Georgia Power. I think I will stick with the “weather girl” idea if the photography thing ever gets boring. I was commissioned as the artist for the Construction Education Foundation of Georgia’s Expo. The expo exposes high school students from all over Georgia to the world of architecture, construction and engineering. This was an amazing two day event held in Atlanta. Some of Georgia’s top leaders in the construction industry and state government attended the event. Even Miss Georgia Leah Massee was on hand. I will share more of the images soon - but wanted to take this opportunity to thank CEO, Scott Shelar and the Board of CEFGA for allowing me this wonderful opportunity to be included this year. Scott is the father of Martin - who you have seen often featured on my blog.
The new Savannah Magazine is hot off the press and Lori is featured in their women in business section. The article focuses on reason’s why Lori is the portrait artist of choice for Savannah’s most prominent families. It also talks about Lori’s membership in the Savannah Jr. League and her international recognition not only as a photographer but also as an advocate for cancer research.
Pick up a copy of Savannah Magazine today and check out Lori’s feature. For those of you that do not subscribe to Savannah Magazine or do not have a chance to pick up a copy - we have posted Lori’s story here.
If three is anything like one or two then he will be a very bright star in whatever he takes on. Congratulations Emmett (TWO) and Dr. Shelley Daniel’s on the birth of their incredibly beautiful little boy. I have photographed the Daniel/Buckley/Edwards family for more years than I care to admit including mom and dad’s engagement, bridal and I served as the grooms family photographer at their wedding. This new addition is a L O N G awaited arrival. Emmett two and DeWayne graduated from high school together a few years ago at Pinewood. Thanks to Emmett - DeWayne will not be the oldest “new” father in the class. Their niece Maggie’s oil is on display in our studio and remains one of my favorite oil portraits.
Shelley and I share the same OB doctor, Joe Edwards of Savannah. Joe is Emmett, Jr.’s cousin. Their long rode included In Vitro Fertilization by Dr. Patrick Blohm. They have a wonderful story and like us - a very happy ending. Hopefully she will share her entire story with us soon on the blog. Their birth announcement is phenomenal and hit the mail today.
I also wanted to share their entire session with you. Many of you have used other photographers and are blown away with the number of incredible images you were shown during the presentation slide show. This slide show is what they saw for the first time. The images are not color corrected, enhanced or retouched in any way. Just one more powerful peak into the Lori Grice difference. Enjoy!
Every day when I open the paper or turn on the news I see another story about the terrible condition of our earth. Almost daily I read about simple things each of us can do to help conserve energy and protect our planet. Small things from recycling our cans, glass, plastic and newspapers to putting in low flow faucets and toilets. Some things take a little more effort and money than others - but then again some are very simple. A couple of years ago I started giving my clients a small tote bag with our logo on it. The bags are green in color. Many of you have told me how handy the bags are and some of you have even came in for replacements between sessions. One special client who is very eco-conscious told me that she used her bag for grocery shopping. This helps cut down waste by not having to get plastic or paper bags when she goes shopping. Inside her LGP GREEN bag she puts other bags to bag her groceries. She has been doing this for almost a year and has not had to use one additional bag from the grocery store. This launched my GO GREEN initiative where I encourage each client to become more creative with the use of the bags. In addition, the GREEN bags will hopefully be a gentle reminder of the importance of “going green” a little more each day.
Edie Grace loves going shopping with the GREEN LGP bags.
Recently, DeWayne and I had the opportunity to spend some time again with an inspiring couple from Atlanta who have wrote the book on going green. They built and live in one of the most eco friendly homes in the world. They named their home “ECO Manor” and the house even has its on website. I encourage you to take a second to browse this web site and see how passionate they are about living more eco friendly. They are certainly inspirations to each of us.
If the couple seems familiar - it is probably because they are. This husband and wife duo is Rutherford and Laura Seydel. Rutherford is an Atanta Lawyer and is the owner of the Atlanta Hawks and the Atlanta Thrashers. Laura is the daughter of Georgia’s most famous citizen Ted Turner (founder of CNN, TBS, Headline News) I have spoken to Laura about her coming down to south Georgia soon and meet some of you and discuss her passion of sustaining and protecting our precious environment. As a mother of three, Laura is determined to be an example not only for her family but also for the world. I salute that green “girl power”!
