French Riviera - Day 7
Our final day on the Norwegian Gem was spent in the French Riviera. We dropped anchor in the harbor of Villefranche. We took a small boat (tender) in from the boat to the dock. We then walked up to the center of town and caught a bus to Nice. We spent most of the day in the Flower and Vegetable market in the center of the old town district in Nice. The market was two blocks from the French Riviera.
We enjoyed a leisurely day in the market and shopping in the city. We had LOTS of french pastries. They were almost as good as the ones we get at Sugar Magnolia in Downtown Statesboro. For lunch we had a great hotdog pastry which was quite interesting and tasty. This was one of my best days of shooting. I really captured some incredible images. We are anxious to get home - but very sad to leave. Life here is so different. They open their businesses around 10 AM each day and close from 1 to 3 fro lunch and then close for the day between 6 and 7. It is very laid back and seemingly stress free.
I hope you have enjoyed these blogs this week. It was technically a little more challenging than we imagined to do the daily updates. But it has forced us to sit down each evening and go through our image and recap our day. The images I have shared this week are only an overview of our trip and all of them were taken with my least expensive "blog" camera - which is a point and shoot. If you think these images are incredible - wait until you see the ones from my "real" cameras. I have taken about 20 gig’s of images on this trip.
This really is a once in a life time trip for us. Twenty years ago we were fortunate to honeymoon in Europe (England and France) and had planned to go on to Italy. We changed our plans and spent more time in London and Paris. We promised each other that we would return and do the rest of the honeymoon for our 20th anniversary. So for 20 years we have planned this trip. It was more incredible than either of us imagined. We are now planning to come back and spend some time here with Edie Grace and hopefully a few of you.
Thanks for the emails and comments on these blogs. Even though I have not responded back to each of you who have taken the time to comment or email - I have received them and very much appreciate them.
We arrive in Barcelona in the morning and disembark at 6 AM then make our way to the airport for our flight back to the U.S.

Welcome to my blog! Thanks for stopping by to learn a little about me, my studio, my family, my clients, my advocacy, my community and my passions. Yes I know many of you are addicted and I promise to continue to make the entries even more touching and exciting. Hope to see all of you in the studio SOON!
