Last year I was commissioned by Sea Island Bank to create images for their marketing campaigns for Statesboro and Metter branches.  This has been a great opportunity to feature many of you in ads for SIB.  The campaign is heavily driven on photography and customer stories.  The ads have been everywhere so I am sure you have seen them.  We have kicked off the new year with SIB Connect with your Banker campaign.  Billboards throughout the area are up now featuring five key bank SIB employees.  Here is a sneak preview of the billboards and the campaign.  If you know any of these people please make sure and tell them how you have always wanted a billboard size Lori Grice portrait!

Please keep me in mind for any commercial or marketing projects you may have for your business.  Great photography can help carry the campaign over the top.  In this environment – you need all the edge you can get.  Commercial photography is not something we market – but it is something that breaks me out of the norm and I really enjoy the challenge.

Most of you have probably heard that Dr. Guido has been in the hospital.  The "Nights of Lights" at his Garden in Metter really took a toll on him.  He will celebrate his 94th birthday on January 30th.  I don’t think that I could’ve greeted the thousands of people he did for one straight month at my age much less at 93!

Although he can not have visitors or phone calls right now, he does LOVE to receive cards.   Please take a minute and let your kids draw him a picture.  Maybe even something from their memories visiting the Lights at the Garden!  He sure would enjoy that!!!

  It seems like yesterday that I photographed Martin’s beautiful mom in his Atlanta bedroom waiting on his much anticipated arrival.  Now back in Atlanta, we photographed him at one with his beautiful parents.  Nothing is more amazing than watching how fast the first year goes by and documenting artistically, through photography, his transformation. 

You may remember from my earlier blogs that Martin’s mom is a busy doctor who is a former Miss Georgia and will always be our "Miss America" even though, officially, she was first runner up. 

The Coastal Source, WJCL TV and Fox in Savannah have selected 15 community leaders throughout the coastal empire to help launch their Good News series. The council represents all areas of the Coastal Empire and Low Country including Savannah Mayor Otis Johnson, Metro Police chief Michael Berkow, Jane Feiler, O.C. Welch, and DeWayne Grice.

Beautiful, round bellies!!!  A new life…about to begin.  A promise of a blank canvas.  I love the verse, "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you…" Jeremiah 1:5.

What a beautiful couple!  They allowed me to share these incredible images with you.  I photograph lots of expecting sessions but most of the couples are not as comfortable allowing me to share portraits as this sweet couple.  So from these you know they truly have a beautiful baby!

We are putting the final touches on our Valentine’s portrait events for 2009.

A short while ago I had the great honor of being commissioned by the family of Ralph Adair Dixon to photograph his 90th birthday celebration in Claxton, Georgia.  His party was the social event of the year in this small community.  It was great to photograph so many of my clients and friends over there at the celebration.  Mr. Dixon’s daughters commissioned me this year to create an album of the event as a Christmas surprise for their dad.  I wanted to share this with you as an idea for a special event you may have in the future and want to commission me to document it in an incredibly artistic way.  We have also had many request from people who attended to see the images from that day.  This will allow each of you to get a sneak peek at the album and relive this wonderful day with the Dixon family.

I am already working with daughter Joyce on another Christmas surprise project for next year.  But your going to have to wait a while for that one. 

I have written several blogs about Lisa Oliver and her amazing story.  Her book has just been published and she is making one of her first appearances on her book tour this Thursday night in Statesboro at Believers Church.  She is going to be the guest speaker this Thursday Night at our "Inside Out" Ladies Chili Dinner, 6:30 p.m.  Lisa will be sharing her amazing story and signing her new book, "Fly with Me on Wings of Hope."  I received my copy today and from what I have read already -  it is a MUST READ. If you have never been to a Cirque Du Soleil show then I am not sure where to even begin to try and describe it.  Basically it is indescribably, breathtakingly, incredible and defies all understanding of the human body or human potential.  For those of you that have attended one of the shows…maybe you could comment and help me out?   This is our fourth Cirque and Edie Grace’s second.  Three of our four and both of Edie Grace’s have been in Atlanta under a big top tent.

When the show is over – you are completely exhausted from being thrilled out of your mind.  The quality of the performance, the dancers, the sets and costumes are all first class.  They even have a live band and singers who perform the sound track live during the show.  Since I do not know where to begin to describe the show – other than telling you – it is a must do experience for you – I will refer to their brochure for their description.

Here is how they describe the show in the brochure, "Kooza tells the story of the Innocent, a melancholy loner in search of his place in the world.  His journey brings him in to contact with a panoply of comic characters such as the king, the Trickster, the Pickpocket, and the Obnoxious tourist and his Mad Dog.  Kooza is a return to the origins of Cirque du Soleil: it combines two circus traditions – acrobatic performance and the art of clowning.  the show highlights the physical demands of human performance in all its splendor and fragility, presented in a colorful melange that emphasizes bold slapstick humor."
