I met these guys when they were in college at GSU.  They came in do portraits while they were students.  Now they are working on baby #2!  Time flies, doesn’t it?

You probably recognize them…they own PARTY HARBOR.  Edie Grace is one of their biggest fans!  We have enjoyed their jumps at parties all over and especially LOVE the fun they add to F1RST Friday’s here in downtown Statesboro.

What a fun afternoon!  Great kids, beautiful weather and perfect light.  When these guys are my age they are going to cherish these memories.  Great-granddaddy’s tractor, Great Grandma’s flowers, Granddaddy and Grandma’s pond…

They don’t “got milk” but they got chickens.  It is not everyday that I get to use a real live chicken as a prop.  (but it won’t be long before the bunnies are here!)

$99 per month package – includes four sessions throughout the year and a custom designed baby album with 40 - 60 of your favorite images.  YES, 40 – 60!  I personally design the album and present it to you at the end of the year.  Paying monthly allows you to budget your investment.

a few notes:  due to the exclusive nature of these events, payment must be made in full and in advance to reserve an appointment.  (please don’t ask us to make exceptions) there will be an absolutely non-refundable fee of $50 per session for the Statesboro appointments and $100 per session for the Savannah sessions.  please understand that reindeer food and Santa lodging has to be equally shared by all participants to make this opportunity available.

Birthday’s are fun – but there is nothing like the first birthday.  No year of your life do you change more physically than your first year.  Making the commitment to document this incredible year artistically and professionally is a must.  Thanks to Madelyn’s parents for allowing me this wonderful opportunity.  It has been so much fun watching her grow and develop this year.  Here is a recap of our incredible year with Madelyn.

too precious for words…

and over 10 pounds!!!

Seven years ago today- mine and DeWayne’s world turned upside down and inside out.  God gave us the most incredibly precious gift any one could ever ask for - a terrific & beautiful little girl.  After a 12 year journey, with lots of ups and downs - she arrived.  Many of you had told me that there was no way that I could understand love until I experienced parenthood.  Nothing has ever been more true.  Edie Grace has become our world.  She has been my creative rebirth in so many ways.

Most of you know  our story - but after a 12 year struggle to have a child - I learned when she was only 14 months old that I had cervical cancer.  In fact, I had my first surgery on my 33rd birthday.  I breast fed Edie Grace for the last time the night prior to my surgery.

This was an epiphany to me, however.  If I did not make it through the surgery or survive the cancer - I realized that the ONLY way Edie Grace would know me was through pictures.  She would have no cognitive memory other than pictures.

How ironic - the gift I give to parents every day - is the ONLY way my child would know me - had I not survived.  Well God had another plan for me.  He knew that many of you needed to hear my story and to have your story told through the lens of my camera.  Every portrait I create is special - but none are more special than the ones I have created since this spiritual and creative rebirth.  I understand the incredible importance of my job in a way I had never understood before the arrival of Edie Grace and the survivorship of cancer.

When I speak around the country - sharing my story I end my speech with a slide show.  It is our story through pictures and it is set to one of my favorite songs by Tim Mcgraw “Live Like You Were Dying” which is my challenge to each of you.  Life really takes on a whole new meaning when you do this.

Happy Birthday Edie Grace and thanks for adding the value and meaning to my life that it needed.  You have inspired me to work harder and stretch my creative abilities in ways that seemed unimaginable.  All that in just SEVEN years!

Six months is such a great time to photograph a baby.  They are so much fun.  They can sit up but can’t run away - YET!  This sweet little girl was such a joy to work with.  She is such a special little girl.  Mom and Dad are so wonderful.  Dad is such a trooper.  He was such a big help and kind to drive mom and daughter from Savannah to the ‘boro for their session.

If three is anything like one or two then he will be a very bright star in whatever he takes on.  Congratulations Emmett (TWO) and Dr. Shelley Daniel’s on the birth of their incredibly beautiful little boy.  I have photographed the Daniel/Buckley/Edwards family for more years than I care to admit including mom and dad’s engagement, bridal and I served as the grooms family photographer at their wedding.  This new addition is a L O N G awaited arrival.  Emmett two and DeWayne graduated from high school together a few years ago at Pinewood.  Thanks to Emmett - DeWayne will not be the oldest “new” father in the class.  Their niece Maggie’s oil is on display in our studio and remains one of my favorite oil portraits.

Shelley and I share the same OB doctor, Joe Edwards of Savannah.  Joe is Emmett, Jr.’s cousin.  Their long rode included In Vitro Fertilization by Dr. Patrick Blohm.   They have a wonderful story and like us - a very happy ending.  Hopefully she will share her entire story with us soon on the blog.  Their birth announcement is phenomenal and hit the mail today. 

I also wanted to share their entire session with you.  Many of you have used other photographers and are blown away with the number of incredible images you were shown during the presentation slide show.  This slide show is what they saw for the first time.  The images are not color corrected, enhanced or retouched in any way.  Just one more powerful peak into the Lori Grice difference.  Enjoy!
