Chelsea and her cousin are both seniors at Claxton High School this year. They were lots of fun to work with. We created some great images for them both. Here are a few of my favorites from Chelsea’s session.
Congratulations Chelsea!

Congratulations Lacy! This week I am featuring some of my favorite senior sessions. Lacy has one of the coolest mom’s ever. She allowed Lacy to “TRASH HER PROM DRESS” during her senior session. Click on the link and check out her Senior session.
This card was sent to out of town relatives and special friends as part of her graduation announcement. Below is her actual graduation invitation - created in by our studio.
She is a senior at CHS - Claxton High School.
Best of luck Lacy!

This year has been a wonderful & fun year of
creating beautiful Senior portraits. Few portrait sessions are as important and unique as the senior sessions. We limit the number of seniors we photograph annually because I want them to be creatively different. I also spend a good bit more time with seniors trying to learn as much about them as possible. This allows me to capture their personality through portraits. It is important to tell their story. This is their opportunity to display their independence and set in place the steps to blaze their trail. Over the next few posts I will be featuring some of my favorite senior portrait sessions from this past year. I encourage any of you who have rising seniors to call NOW and get on the ‘09 senior list.
Yes, this is her graduation announcement. There are very few things this beautiful, smart young lady does the same as everyone else. She deserves an invitation that expresses her uniqueness. I think we accomplished this with her announcements. By the way - she was crowned Miss Statesboro High a few weeks ago.
Congratulations Marlee!

Congratulations to Marlee! She won Miss Statesboro High School earlier this evening. We were out-of-town on a session and drove in just in time to see her in her crown and dress. She looked so beautiful! Marlee’s Mom Karen Lambert, owns Serenity Day Spa and Salon. Many of you know that I am a confessed “spa groupie”. I LOVE all things AVEDA and spend as much time at Serenity as I possibly can!
Not only am I feeling VERY proud of Marlee but I am feeling just a little bit old. You see, I first photographed Marlee when she was only two years old. Now I am photographing her nephew who is now two. Maybe I won’t need a walker or a wheelchair when I do his Senior portraits one day.
p.s. I jumped out of the car only with my purse blog camera

Over 20 years ago I photographed my first senior session. Long before I began my business I was the photographer for the yearbook in high school. Serving on the yearbook staff gave me a real understanding of what it takes to produce a year book and how important year book pictures really are. Recently I attending my 20th high school reunion. I received an entirely new appreciation of the importance of GREAT high school pictures. At the registration table, the host had copied pictures from our Senior yearbook and made name tags for each of us. OMG!
Many of the seniors I photography now are ones that I have photographed from birth. Yeah I FEEL REALLY OLD! Each year I take on a fresh new crop of 25 seniors so I can dedicate the time to each one of them in order to tell their story. This is one of the most important sessions - because if is their first step into independence. I walk the line with mom and the senior - creating a balance with how mom sees them and who they really are.
No other area of photography has been impacted more over the past few years than Senior Photography. There are so many more creative options now. In addition, the Internet has opened up an entirely new medium of community and communication. In keeping up with technology I have launched my own Myspace page with the help of Savannah Arts Academy student Brandon James. Of course, you will find him in my friends list there! Check out my MySpace page here. Every Senior Session I create this year will include images for Facebook or Myspace.
I am using this to communicate with my seniors and allow us to connect to share my images both past and present.
Above is a session I did a few weeks ago for a beautiful young lady that I have photographed since she was TWO. She is so beautiful and so much fun. Her mom is super cool and a blast to be around. The bond these two share is really incredible. (The baby in the slide show is her nephew - BTW)
In this preview of an an entire senior session you see how creative and fun they are.
If you know a senior and think they may be interested in experiencing my difference - please have them call or email to get on the list today! Several seniors missed out last year. As you watch the slide show - you will better understand why I limit this service. It takes LOTS of time to do it RIGHT! Enjoy!
Another fun Tatnall senior! I just don’t remember having as many pretty girls in High school as I photograph now! And smart too! One senior from last year told me that her GPA was 98.3 — which blew me away. THEN…she went on to say that even with that GPA she was only 16th in her class. Go figure! I am not sure if my class’ Valedictorian’s GPA was that high!
The book she has in her hand is 1984. I was surprised that “big brother” is still popular reading material. I can’t remember if we all had to read it or if it was a choice in High School. I do remember it being the cause for many lively discussions!
New for today…I want to start sharing some of my favorite quotes from time to time. Send me some of your favs so I can share them too!
Quote Of The Day
The forces that are against you are less than those for you. —Joel Osteen

the prom is over and the experience was more than you imagined. You have a very expensive dress in your closet with no plan to EVER wear it again. What should you do with it? Trash it? Yeah….TRASH IT!
High school seniors are always looking for a way to rebel in a way that will certainly scream their independence. One of the hottest new fads hitting the photography industry today are the after prom - trash the dress sessions. Some brides are even getting into the act along with their brides maids…can you imagine?
This senior from Tattnall High School was a great sport and enjoyed drowning this gown. I am including a few of my favorites from her session in addition to the ones from “trashing the dress”.
I am not sure had more fun the senior, her mom or me!
